Bathroom

Bicycle rides in and around Burlington don’t require off road searches for places to pee. Most parks have pissoires, clean, very clean pissoires. This one at Oakledge Park allows bathers a chance to shower and change at Blanchard Beach.

As is the current custom, bathrooms have changing tables for the babies, low urinals for the height challenged, and the adult urinal, a bowl used mostly by men to collect their liquid waste. This one offered a choice of heights. The drain in the center catches water from the shower which is out of sight on the image. To make the water reach the drain the floor slants downward from the wall under the urinals and the rear wall where the shower is attached. As a result of the dip, the bowls are higher than they ordinary would be if the floor were flat.

My urination device came out of my pants at a position almost high enough for the one on the right and too high for the one on the left. Being a man, I figured out how to avoid backsplash. I stepped back and aimed. I have taken this particular bathroom off my list, except in emergencies.
