Some people like parades. Some people don’t. The same thing could be said of circuses. I favor circuses over parades. Under the big top, the clowns clearly identify themselves.
What kills event parades like this is the presence of campaigners. Its not enough that when they are together, they cannot distinguish themselves from one another, acting like they will be friends to the end, as they flail at the opposition, failing to make any statement which will show why one as opposed to the other should be elected. The candidates don’t wear costumes or makeup. They don’t hug and kiss members of their own gender, yet alone any babies. They just wave and smile, handing out literature and memorabilia. At least they don’t talk while they interfere with the festive mood.
You know why they don’t have their own parades? No one would come.
They really ought to do something entertaining. Just carrying a sign with your name on it shouldn’t really qualify you for a parade.
